Work in progress since the people need refinement but I’m going for this style with this and maybe a longitudinal section so that it isn’t an isolated style and I would have decent reply cards to reference. My big worry with this is it came out too grungy with the scan of a print. There’s a lot of noise that came from scanning but I’ll see how it is when it’s plotted.

Research Questions

What kinds of materials and systems could be used to bring water to the ground, direct it, and then filter it in an way that restates the concept of the project?

What kinds of plants can be used for the low height and high height greenhouse as well as the roof garden and the demo gardens (given their shaded nature)?

What precedents are there for the glass facade and what would be feasible for keeping the building energy friendly? Does the bike display area need to lie outside the envelope of the building?

Project Concept Statement 11.04.11

Continuously revise your project statement to refine the essential concepts that answers the question:

What is your project about?

This will be your “elevator pitch”, the first words that you speak when introducing your project for any crit or review. Do not short circuit the process by talking about morphological aspects of the project and architectural strategies that you want to pursue. Instead talk about your interpretation of the site and program that lead you to making analogical associations. Visualize in words the attitude, character, and identity of your project.
